Assessment of the scientific and economic relevance of the Project was made in order to obtain the approval of the Business Cluster and support for this project at the Provence-Alps-Côte d’Azur (PACA) regional authority. FIRE is an innovative project concerning a major issue for the Risk Cluster and for those in the region who are involved in this Cluster, i.e. early detection of fires, a warning system and the acquisition of data related to the evolution of the fire, including the detection of terpenes which are released by combustion and which are highly inflammable and constitute a great danger for the fire fighters. The scientific and economic interest is undeniable. This project includes a market survey, a feasibility study and an industrialization stage.
